Praça 66 Guest House
Welcome to Praça 66 Guest House
Praça 66 Guest House stands out as an exceptional lodging choice in the heart of Porto, located at Praça do Marquês de Pombal 66. With a stellar 4.8 rating, it captures the essence of comfort, style, and functionality, making it ideal for families and large groups. The guest house offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern living, thoughtfully curated to meet the needs of diverse visitors.
The architecture is a highlight. It smartly separates living spaces, placing bedrooms on a different floor from the kitchen and common areas. This design nuance not only enhances privacy but also prevents cooking odors from permeating the sleeping quarters. Guests like Wes Paul have praised this feature, appreciating the attention to detail that allows larger families to coexist harmoniously, even when preparing meals with strong aromas like fish.
Philipp Wolf’s review emphasizes another key strength: the guest house’s capacity to comfortably accommodate groups of 10 or more without sacrificing coziness. The common areas invite socializing in a warm atmosphere, while the kitchen is equipped to handle most cooking needs, though larger cookware would be a welcome addition for big group meals. This balance of comfort and utility underscores the property’s thoughtful approach to guest experience.
Aside from its internal charms, Praça 66 Guest House boasts a prime location in a historic neighborhood. Guests can explore the nearby 19th-century Church of the Lord of Bonfim or enjoy scenic views over the Douro River. The area’s global dining options round out a rich cultural experience that harmonizes well with the guest house’s welcoming ambiance.
Overall, Praça 66 Guest House is more than just a place to stay—it is a curated experience that honors Porto’s rich heritage while providing modern comfort and convenience. It invites guests to slow down, connect, and appreciate the finer details of travel, making every visit memorable.

Great place one of very little options for big groups such us ours. 10+ guests not a problem and a very cozy common area with all bedrooms on a separate floor. Nice interior and kitchen has almost everything you need to cook just lasst abit of things for big group cooking (big pots) but for simple food and breakfast will definitely do.
This place is amazing!!! There are plenty of rooms to choose from. Very clean and stylish. I feel like the architecture of this place is very well thought of. By placing the kitchen and living room upstairs, it does not affect the smell of all the bedrooms. Especially if your family is big and others are sensitive with, let's say, fish. You can cook all the fish you want and you will never smell it. I couldn't say about the service that much because it is my in laws who booked it, but they didn't complain, and it looks like they are happy, so if they are happy, I am happy. The place is right next to a bus stop and train station, how great is that! Overall, it was a great experience. To all my fellow renters (especially Americans), please don't trash the place. Show some respect and keep it clean. I was trying not to write this review to keep it hidden for the general public so that it doesn't get messed up by inconsiderate people. But I want to go back to Porto, and how can this place stay in business if it doesn't get customer. So please hope you see this review. Enjoy the place but with respect.
